Overview
The Ramada Canmore Inn and Suites is a decently rated property. The majority of guests enjoyed their stay, however complaints were not too hard to find. The property appears to have some issues with parking space size and proximity to a noisy train (a tip from a few guests was to request a room not facing the tracks). However, there were a lot of positives regarding the friendly staff and the short distance to Banff. Average guest ratings were just under 8 out of 10 points (on 10 point scales) and roughly 3.5 out of 5 points (on 5 point scales).
The GoodA number of reviews on CanadianHotelGuide.com and Booking.com praised the complimentary breakfast provided by this property (however it is important to note that there were also a noticeable number of reviews that contradicted this by stating the breakfast was bland and nothing special). There were also numerous praises by parents regarding the water slide, as their kids enjoyed their time in the pool area. Customer service was consistently praised by reviewers as well as the location. Many guests liked the fact that it was a short drive to Banff.
The Bad
A common complaint was the noise from a nearby train line. It was said to have caused quite a bit of noise during the night. Some travellers advised to request a room facing the road, away from the train tracks to avoid this inconvenience. Similarly, a few guests claimed the walls were thin, making it easy to hear noise from other rooms and the hallway. Small bathrooms and hard beds were not a common complaint, however these criticisms did appear a handful of times across multiple sources. A few reviewers on TripAdvisor.com and Booking.com claimed the rooms felt a bit worn and dated. In addition, the pool area was said to be too small and in need of a thorough cleaning. Small parking spaces were an unwelcome surprised, which caused difficulty for even medium-sized sedans. Finally, the complimentary breakfast caused some polarization. Some guests found the breakfast to be excellent while others were extremely critical. This could be an issue with consistency of quality.
