This hotel is located about a 9-minute drive from Canmore's city centre and an 8-minute drive from the nearest Trans-Canada Highway on-ramp. Platinum Suites at the Grand Canadian is geared towards business or vacation travellers who prefer a hotel offering self-contained units with extended kitchen amenities and an outdoor pool near Canmore's city centre.

Each of the hotel's two-bedroom suites offers free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a coffeemaker, a full kitchen (with a dishwasher and cooking utensils), two full bathrooms, a dining room, a washer and dryer, a DVD player, a fireplace, a desk, an iron and ironing board, a balcony and a jetted tub. The hotel does not offer wheelchair-accessible rooms.

The hotel's location was enjoyed by many lodgers, who described it as secluded and peaceful, as well as close to restaurants, shops, grocery stores, Bow River, Lake Louise and Banff. One guest remarked, "The location away from the noise of the highway but a short drive to Canmore's restaurants and shops was ideal".

Numerous guests praised the hotel's accommodations. They described their rooms as modern, quiet, clean, well equipped, spacious and luxurious, with gorgeous mountain view and comfortable beds. 

The hotel's staff were the source of several compliments by reviewers, They were described as proactive, friendly and helpful with directions. A few patrons did complain about the lack of front desk service after 5 pm, however.
