Overview
Located on Banff Trail North-West about 1 minute north of Hwy 1 (Trans-Canada Hwy), this hotel is popular with guests visiting the University of Calgary or the Foothills Hospital (both about a 4-minute drive away).

Of the 63 smoke-free rooms in this hotel, guests can choose between king or queen beds. All rooms include free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge, a microwave, a coffeemaker, a hair dryer and an iron and ironing board. Pets are welcome for a cost of $10/stay.

Free parking is available on site. Other amenities include a gym and an outdoor heated pool. Guests are offered a complimentary continental breakfast daily. Although there is no on-site restaurant, there are a number of restaurants offering various cuisines (Indian, French, Steakhouse) located less than a 5-minute drive from the hotel.

Attractions in the north end of Calgary include the Calgary Zoo (13-minute drive), which is open year-round. Heritage Park Historical Village is about a 13-minute drive south of the hotel. The downtown area (which is home to the business district and to several attractions like the Stampede Corral and the Saddledome) is about a 10-minute drive away. A C-Train station is about a 5-minute walk from the hotel and gives travellers easy access to downtown. The Good

Guests really liked the price point for this hotel, and felt that they received good value for the price that they paid. Some mentioned it was a deciding factor for their stay. Guests said rooms were clean, spacious and quiet.

Guests liked that the hotel was easy to find and close to shops, restaurants and points of interest like the Foothills Hospital and the University of Calgary. Other guests appreciated the proximity of the C-Train station and the abundance of parking.

Staff also received top marks from guests, who said that they were consistently friendly and helpful.

There were some additional positive comments about comfy beds and about reliable internet access.

The Bad
While many of the comments used for this analysis were positive, there were some concerns voiced by guests with some frequency.

The guests that criticized the hotel's decor made specific mention of the furniture and bedding. One guest said that the "rooms could use a makeover".
