Located in Calgary's north west quadrant, less than a minute's walk to McMahon Stadium and a 7-minute drive to the University of Calgary, this hotel is popular with guests who seek basic accommodations at a lower price point.

There are smoking and non-smoking rooms available at this 2-storey hotel. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge,a coffeemaker, a hair dryer and an iron and an ironing board. Guests can choose between standard rooms (king or queen beds) or larger suites (some of which have a kitchenette with a microwave and/or a separate bedroom). Pets are permitted for $15 per pet, per night.

Although there is no restaurant on site, guests are offered a complimentary continental breakfast daily. There are a number of dining options located within a 5- to 10-minute walk of the hotel. On-site amenities include free parking and a heated outdoor pool.

The most popular attraction in north Calgary is the Calgary Zoo, which is about a 14-minute drive from this hotel. The downtown area (where the business district, the Stampede Corral and the Calgary Tower are located) is about an 11-minute drive away. The C-Train is close by (about a 4-minute walk) and gives travellers easy access to points through the downtown area (as well as the north and south ends of town). The bulk of reviews used for this analysis were negative, but guests were pleased with a few things at this hotel, particularly with the convenience of its location.

A number of guests liked this hotel's proximity to McMahon Stadium (less than a 1-minute walk) and to the C-Train (4-minute walk). Guests also said that there were a number of restaurants located within walking distance.

For a number of guests, price point was a draw. Comments on affordability and on reasonable pricing surfaced frequently.

Guests were pleased with service received from staff and described them as friendly and helpful.

There were some additional compliments paid to the pool. Some said that the pool water was warm and that the pool area was clean.

Most of the reviews used for this analysis were critical or included suggestions for improvements. Complaints about unpleasant odours and a lack of thoroughness when it came to cleaning were common.

Guests said that there was a lack of detailed cleaning in the rooms and that the bathrooms were not very clean. Guests also suggested that the decor (furniture and window coverings in particular) needed updating.

A number of guests commented on unpleasant odours in their rooms, which some described as being moldy, whereas others felt that the odours came from cigarette smoke.

A few guests said that their air conditioning units were malfunctioning and that they had issues regulating temperature in their rooms. A number of guests said that their units were rattling and excessively loud.

There were a number of comments from guests who thought that the on-site parking was limited and that the spaces were crowded and awkward to access. 

 A number of guests were disappointed with the quality and the selection of food offered at the continental breakfast.

There were some peripheral comments about sheets not fitting on the beds and about worn linens.
