"Check in at 5:15 pm was very slow. Not advised of Moxie room service AND there was not information in the room (I specifically checked). When I returned from Moxies with my take-out order, my keys did not work. The check-out sheet tucked into the room door way was only partially in the room. This is a security issue as anyone walking by could have determined that I was likely alone in the room and they also had access to my home address. When I raised these concerns with the front desk at check out, the female (who was not actually checking me out) starting arguing with me that there was Moxie's information in my room). I did not appreciate starting my work day with a debate or disagreement with the front clerk."

"Accommodations and staff were excellent. We had an overnight stay in Calgary while flying home to Ontario from Maui. Very tired and the staff were extremely accommodating. I actually booked online from Maui. The only concern I had was with the shuttle service. I understand the Sandman hotel has an agreement with WestJet. If you are waiting in line for the shuttle and WestJet employees have already called in, they get preferencial service. Which I agree, they deserve, however, with only one van to accommodate all travelers, it can be a long wait. Especially on long flights. Having said all that, the cab fare to your hotel is very reasonable (we took a cab instead of waiting) The complimentary gift card for breakfast offered by Moxies was a great way to complete a good night's rest at Sandman. "We booked a long time before this stay and a week before staying we stated again (for the second time) that we wanted a smoking room. We were assured that it was no problem as we gave very good notice. Hence to say, when we showed up at 12:30 a.m.(a late flight), we were told that all they had was non smoking and that it was too bad. I DON'T like being put on the spot, just because it was late at night and I had no time to find another hotel. I'm NOT impressed!!!!"

"We had just come off a very lovely vacation in Banff and Jasper and had been driving all day. We were ready for an quiet evening meal and bedtime in prep for an early get-up to fly back to Austin. While Moxie's had good food, the atmosphere was definitely for the under 35 crowd-- too loud and jazzy for us. The first clue was the go-go boots, tight black minis and tight T's of the hostesses. When we checked in there was not enough staff . One woman was fielding calls and trying to check us in at the same time. Needless to say the phone call took precidence"
