Guests said that the price was "reasonable" and that it was a "good hotel for the price you pay".
There were a few additional compliments on things like large balconies and good food and service at the on-site restaurant.
Guests said that this older hotel was showing its age, and that the decor was in need of more updating.

"The walls were paper thin and they stuck us in between a room full of yappy kids on either side and across the hall. They were up until 5:30 am and you could hear every word they said. When patrons left the bar down the alley and walked below our window, even though we were on the 4th floor, we could hear everything. It was not a very restful stay at all."

"It was a great place to stay (the staff were excellent and friendly)and convenient...very close to the LRT but the lighting in the room was terrible and everything looked old and dingy. Having the room over the back alley on a Saturday meant a lot of noise."

"The door handle fell off the door. My parents couldnt get into their door because it was jammed. Lightbulbs were blown out. Bathroom shower was covered in hair. Bathroom counter was slimed with something crusty and brown. The cable was fussy. The chairs were stained with what looked to be urine. The room stunk, was either too cold or too hot. The hotel staff was rude and unhelpfull. They made me feel like I was a hassle for them. I will never go back to that place again. It was in fact embarrassing for me to show my Danish inlaws this piece of my country."

"I was totaly impressed with the room service meals. The food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable, especially when the prices are compared with similar hotels in the downtown Calgary area. On the downside, the pillows on the beds were rather flat and not all that comfortable to sleep on. They could be improved. The balance of the room amenities were very good."
