Guests enjoyed this hotel, mostly for its refreshing modern decor, superb cleanliness and prime downtown location.more
Guests really liked the rooms. They were quiet and relaxing with refreshingly modern decor. Beds were very comfy with high quality linens and many were impressed with the huge rain showers, large storage spaces, variety of lighting and stylishly designed bathrooms.
The location was perfect. Guests liked being able to access so much on foot and even more by a quick walk to the bus stop or C-Train station. Guests mentioned restaurants, bars, Avis Car rental, Core Shopping Centre and Stephen pedestrian mall being an easy walk away.
Guests were often quite pleased with the high quality free breakfast enjoyed in a pleasant breakfast room and many enjoyed a great steak at Charcut.
Guests were pleased with the service. The staff were welcoming, attentive and friendly with knowledgeable and helpful concierge staff.
Adding value were: a free tour up the Calgary Tower, area shuttle to downtown offices in the morning, a reasonably-priced mini-bar, a dog wash, pet bed, pet bowls and treats for the fur babies and plush bathrobes.
There were some who provided their critique of the hotel.more
Room complaints found online were: rooms were dark, rooms across from elevator and ice machine noisy, no newspaper delivered to the room as promised by staff, in-room movies were very expensive, venetian blinds did not fully block out light, could hear outside traffic from the 4th floor room, air conditioner blew cold air directly onto the bed, the shower door is glass and opens into the living room so privacy could be an issue for groups of friends, and not worth the high room price.
Other complaints found were: room service was expensive with a very limited menu and not many vegetarian options, the breakfast area was small, old workout equipment in the fitness room, and no business centre.
Some guests felt the breakfast was disappointing for a luxury hotel.
