The Bad
Guests who complained about the hotel often had the same issues.

Guests who were disappointed in the rooms usually complained that they had not been thoroughly cleaned. Complaints included: dust behind the fixtures, dirty floors, smelly carpets, stained furniture, tubs that needed better cleaning and hair in the bathrooms or on the sheets.

Some felt the hotel was tired or dated. Guests complained of older and very small bathrooms, a lack of hot water at times, older bed linens and towels, older furniture, peeling or torn wallpaper, balconies that needed resurfacing and old, very small and noisy elevators.

Some had noise disturbances. This seemed to happen often with rooms close to the elevator which produced loud mechanical sounds.

Guests who complained about the free breakfast usually said it was greasy, not kept hot enough or crowded with line-ups.

Some guests complained about the staff being unhelpful and not genuinely service-oriented. Other low scores came from guests who were not given the rooms they had booked. Some guests told of how the staff did not follow through with promises to compensate them.
