The Good
This hotel received high scores from guests who considered it professionally run with great dining and clean, comfortable rooms in a perfect downtown location.

Guests loved the location. It's at the eastern edge of the Stephen Avenue pedestrian walkway and guests found it excellent for accessing a good choice of restaurants, shopping and entertainment. Another plus was having the C-Train just outside the hotel and the Olympic Plaza next door.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Guests described their rooms as a good size and well appointed with comfortable beds and great showers. Business guests enjoyed large work spaces and excellent Wi-Fi and guests on the higher floors praised the city views.

Guests who had spa services were well pleased--one guest said the spa was fantastic.

The staff delivered great service. Guests found professional, knowledgable and friendly staff who were service oriented and made the stay for some.

Guests who spoke of the dining on site and room service said the food was delicious and service excellent.

The gym was clean and well maintained with a great variety of equipment. Guests often enjoyed the pool and hot tub which also offered great views of the Calgary Tower.

The Bad
Guests who were a little less impressed with the hotel offered some negative feedback.

Some guests were disenchanted with the hotel because for the price they paid, they were expecting a more luxurious room and experience. This sometimes occurred when the parkade was full, the restaurant was unexpectedly closed, guest's expensive bathing suits faded from high levels of chlorine in the pool or the hotel had overbooked and guests did not obtain the bed configuration of choice.

Recent room complaints were: rooms were getting dated and tired, bed was too firm and pillows were small, lumpy and uncomfortable, no movie channels--only expensive pay movies, power outlets scarce and inconveniently placed, no bottled water provided in the room and no table to enjoy room service in the room.

There were a few noise complaints from: the nearby C-Train which could be heard all day and night, a nearby club with DJ music and a whining noise on an upper floor.

Some guests felt the hotel was expensive. Complaints about the prices included room rates, parking and dining.

Other recent hotel complaints were: not enough vending machines in the hotel and they only took credit cards, room service menu too limited for overnight dining, the pool area had lockers but no locks were provided, and the pool seemed a little small.
