The Good
Positive reviews for this hotel, of the guest reviews used for this analysis, mentioned solid customer service and good location.

Staff received top marks from guests here, who used words like "polite", "pleasant" and "helpful" to describe them. Front desk and bar staff were mentioned specifically. One guest wrote in detail about how a staff member accommodated her early check in request.

Location was also a favourable point for a number of guests, who said that shopping and restaurants were easily accessible within a short drive. One guest felt that the drive to the downtown area was reasonable. One guest said that this is a "good hotel if you have a car". A number of guests commented on convenient access to public transit.

There were some additional compliments on things like the quality and the price of food in the on-site restaurant.
The Bad
While a number of the reviews used for this analysis were favourable, there were a few items that guest complaints had in common, namely the size of the rooms and ageing decor and linens.

While a number of guests praised the cleanliness of the rooms, a number of guests mentioned that the rooms were very small and difficult to manoeuvre in.

Although the hotel had recently had some renovations, a few guests noted that there were some items that still looked worn and tired, notably sheets and linens, and some of the decor.

A number of guests had difficulty regulating temperature in their rooms, and found them warm and stuffy.

There were a few peripheral complaints, on things like a lack of selection with gym equipment (particularly weights) and from guests who wished that breakfast was included with the room rate.

"POOR customer service."

"I gave the front desk feedback - water was either HOT or ICE Cold, TV broken, No internet connection. The guy just smiled and acknowledged without any offer to assist. He did not even ask me what room I was in, and so s I was walking away I said, " aren't you curious what room I am in? at which point he perked up and said oh yes, of course . . . sad"

"The room did not deserve the price. One bedside lamp was broken. We have stayed better acommodation with half the price."

"Hotel was overheated, both in the room and the hallways, with no way to turn down the heat. We had to open the window and cool off the room to be able to sleep. The restaurant was not good. We had one meal there and they served cold, greasy food but did not charge us for it when we complained. Being close to the LRT was a plus and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and we enjoyed the newspaper outside our door each morning. Nice swimming pool and whirlpool. I would stay here again."

"the only think I didn't like was that the main desk is on floor 3 1/2 and I had to carry my luggage up and down a half flight to get to and from the elevator. Not bad if you don't have much, but I wondered about seniors managing."

"As we were in Calgary for the Stampede this hotel suited us very well being near to the grounds. C train station was at the end of the car park."

"When we went to use the iron it left a bit of residue on a shirt, it was obvious that had been used, something got stuck to it and it was never cleaned ........"

"Just wanted to point out a few details that needs your attention in order to better your service to future customers. The bathtub had an unpleasant smell and stained. The cover spread on the bed smelled like someone's underarms."

"the hotel was noisy, one could hear other guests having sex in their room, one could hear people walking around the hallway, my sleep most certainly was disrupted numerous times during the night; the room was old and dingy; no I would not recommend this hotel to anyone"
