Overview
Located a 3-minute drive from Hwy 1 (Trans-Canada Hwy), this hotel is a 5-minute drive from Canada Olympic Park, making it a popular choice with families and with those travelling by car en route to Banff (1.5 hours away west on the Trans-Canada). This hotel is also used by patients and families of the Alberta Children's Hospital (about a 9-minute drive away).

In all of the 150 rooms at this hotel, guests have free Wi-Fi, a 42-inch flat-screen TV, a coffeemaker, a microwave, a mini-fridge, voicemail, a hair dryer and an iron and ironing board. There are traditional guest rooms (king or queen beds) or suites of varying sizes and amenities (some have a jacuzzi and/or a fireplace). Pets are not permitted at this hotel.

On-site dining is available for guests at Ric's Lounge and Grill, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. There are also other dining options within a 2-minute walk of this hotel. On-site amenities include free parking, a spa, an indoor pool, a waterslide, a hot tub and a gym. 

Market Mall (one of Calgary's largest), is about a 9-minute drive east on Hwy 1. Other points of interest in the north end of Calgary include the Calgary Zoo, which is about a 21-minute drive away. The downtown area (which is where the Stampede Corral, the Calgary Tower and the Glenbow Museum are all located) is about an 20-minute drive away. Banff National Park is about a 1.5-hour drive west on the Trans-Canada Highway. Air travellers should budget about 30 minutes to drive between the hotel and Calgary International Airport (YYC). The Good
The bulk of the reviews used for this analysis were positive and centred on the hotel's location and on the cleanliness of its rooms.

Depending on their needs and interests, a number of guests liked the location of this hotel. Several guests liked its proximity to Canada Olympic Park (7 minutes) and to the Alberta Children's Hospital (9 minutes). Others felt that it was within reasonable driving distance both to Calgary International Airport and to the downtown area. Guests travelling from Calgary to nearby Banff (just under a 1.5-hour drive away) liked being in the far north west corner of the city, and being close to Hwy 1, which they felt cut down considerably on their travel time out of the city towards Banff. 

Rooms were clean and spacious, according to a number of guests. A few guests also said that the rooms were nicely laid out and comfortable.

Guests used words like friendly and helpful to describe the staff. Front desk staff were mentioned specifically.

There were a couple of additional comments from guests who enjoyed the pool area.

Based on the reviews used for this analysis, guests generally enjoyed their stay at this hotel, but a few guests were bothered by noise.

Noise comments surfaced frequently in the reviews, and much of the noise came from noisy neighbours in adjacent rooms. Several guests also were disturbed by street noise from traffic on nearby Hwy 1 (about a 3-minute drive away).

There were some additional comments on difficulties regulating temperature and on the quality of the food offered at breakfast in the on-site restaurant.
