The Good
Guests typically enjoyed their stay at this hotel.

Guests usually liked the rooms. Although not luxurious, they were very clean, well maintained, spacious and had comfortable beds with quality bed linens. Guests especially appreciated the views of the Calgary Tower, Bow River and downtown from some of the rooms.

Guests often praised the dining, room service and breakfasts on site. Guests used words like exceptional and wonderful to describe the food. Of the paid breakfast buffet, one recent guest wrote, "Breakfast was amazing - the best we've encountered so far - huge variety, good value."

Location was excellent. It was a short walk to the mall, Eau Claire Market, Bow River trail, Prince's Island Park and the restaurant and entertainment district.

The staff were well liked. Guests described them as attentive, kind and accommodating. They were not perfect (one staff member gave poor directions), but they went out of their way to make the stay pleasant for guests. One guest felt that the concierge and doormen were especially warm, friendly and helpful.

Adding value were: a good size saltwater indoor pool, a sun terrace with beautiful views, a comfortable lobby bar, free snacks at the bar, Starbucks on site, fast Wi-Fi and underground parking access.

The Bad
There were a few guests who were not fully impressed with the hotel and offered some negative feedback online.

Some felt the hotel was due for a renovation with dated lobby and rooms, dark tiling and drab colours, slow elevators, noisy AC units and stained furniture.

Parking was also expensive to some guests.
