The Good
Many guests enjoyed their stay, especially larger groups and families. This was not a luxury resort, but the units, although dated, were well equipped and comfortable and some accommodated several people.

Guests liked the location. It was an easy ride to Banff's restaurants on the Roam bus, it was near hiking trails. It was quieter than being in the town centre and the views were beautiful. Guests also liked having a convenience store very close by (about a minute's walk) with liquor store and a nearby waterslide.

Guests typically enjoyed the units, although this was not unanimous. Many found the rooms clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and well equipped with amenities and full kitchens. Some guests really enjoyed their balconies which were furnished with a table and chairs.

Guests liked the staff. They offered friendly service and helpful information.

Guests felt that these units provided an affordable stay for an entire family, even with the family dog.

The Bad
Some guests were dissatisfied with their stay and felt the resort was tired and needed better cleaning and maintenance.

Recent room complaints were: decor dark and gloomy, chalet smelled poorly, no pans for cooking, venetians missing strips, floors needed sweeping, rugs did not feel clean, toilet dirty, fuse box and wires within reach of children, shower stall tiny and tiles were cracked and looked dirty, the shower's ceiling had black flecks, scum around the bath, lights did not work, globes missing from lights, switches did not work, fireplace did not work, sheets were too thin, sheets did not cover mattress, duvet cover very wrinkled, room gets hot without air conditioning, sofa shabby, lamp wobbly

On occasion guests reported noise disturbance. They cited train horns, cars starting up in the morning and footsteps on nearby stairways.

Recent hotel complaints were: parking is tight for larger vehicles and there was difficulty leaving without moving other vehicles, steps worn and dirty and in need of re-paving, hot tub was not situated next to the swimming pool, but inconveniently in another room, the swimming pool in a silly spot for a resort--could be seen from the lobby with glass walls, and all the cabins require plenty of work to the exteriors.

Although many reviewers said they would stay at this resort again, there were guests that found the hotel too poorly maintained and said they would not return.
