Overview
This hostel offers a budget stay along with an entertainment venue, a 5-minute drive from downtown Banff. Guests can also cook meals in the communal kitchen to save on costs. Free shuttle service to downtown and nearby attractions adds convenience, while free parking adds value to the stay.

This smoke-free and pet-free hostel offers both private and dorm-style rooms with a choice of shared, or en suite bathroom. Private cabins are also available with 2 double beds and an electric fireplace. Free Wi-Fi and linens are available in all rooms. The hostel is wheelchair accessible. 

Free parking is available on site. A free bus pass is also available for each guest with a $5 refundable deposit.

Cougar Pete's Kitchen and Lookout is on site and serves breakfast and dinner daily. The Storm Cellar Pub & Gamehouse offers pub-style meals along with games (darts, pool, foosball) and entertainment (Karaoke and live music).

Hostel amenities include a common lounge, two common kitchens, BBQ facilities, computer kiosks, a meeting room, vending machines, bicycle storage, guest laundry, storage lockers and a library.

Sunshine Village Ski Resort can be found 22 minutes away by car, while Mount Norquay Ski Resort is about a 16-minute drive away. Bow Falls is a 6-minute drive from the hostel and Banff Airport (YBA) is roughly a 10-minute drive away. (All travel time estimates: Google Maps)

The Good
The majority of the reviews sourced for this analysis were positive, with praise going to the hotel's rooms, location and staff.

Numerous guests were pleased with the hostel's location, describing it as relaxing and close to public transit, downtown Banff, skiing, hiking and bike trails. One patron noted, "The hostel is located at tunnel mountain, about a 2km walk into town. It only takes about 15 mins to walk and is quite scenic so not a problem that it's not located in the centre for town. The hostel also gives you a complimentary bus pass which was fantastic! This bus pass gets you into town, as well as to the local sights like the Gondola, hot springs etc."

Many lodgers praised their accommodations at the hostel. They found their rooms to be clean, with comfortable beds and great mountain views. 

The hostel's staff were the source of several compliments by travellers, who characterized them as helpful and friendly.

Some guests reported noise transfer during their stay. They reported late-night noise from the attached pub, as well as noise from guests in adjacent and overhead rooms and the hallways.

Although the majority of reviewers were pleased with their clean and comfortable rooms, a few guests had complaints. They reported no in-room air conditioning, weak Wi-Fi and small-sized rooms and beds. 

Occasionally hostellers found it a little far to downtown Banff.

A few guests reported poor signage for locating the building while driving.
