The Good

They loved the location. It was right downtown an easy walk to good restaurants and shops and only a block to the peaceful Bow River trails. Guests also said it was convenient to the highway and for catching the ski shuttle bus in the morning.

The hotel was pleasing. Some guests liked the rustic decor and warm ambiance of the hotel and often said their rooms were clean and comfortable, although dated.

The continental breakfast was usually appreciated and considered well stocked, although guests often complained about it.

Staff were pleasant and helpful. Guests liked the freshly baked cookies in the lobby.

Some appreciated secure underground parking for a nominal fee.

Wi-Fi was rated as good overall, but some guests had trouble with it in their rooms.

The Bad
Some of the guests offered negative feedback in the reviews.

A common complaint was the lack of air conditioning at the hotel.

Noise was an issue for many guests. Guests were disturbed by: garbage trucks beeping/crashing for 30 minutes in the early morning (6:30 am) in rooms facing the back, a loud bar/club across the street open until 2 am, people chatting and partiers outside, ice and vending machines, slamming doors, and plumbing sounds from rooms nearby. (Street noise was experienced more when guests had to open windows to cool their rooms.)

Recent room complaints were: very dated decor, lighting was dim, small and musty smelling, room had a view of the parking lot/parkade entrance/roof tops, sheets did not fit the bed, door lock finicky, no fridge in room, old saggy mattress, old unsupportive pillows, stained comforter on bed, jacuzzi very loud, housekeeping did not replace toilet paper and soap and small fuzzy TV.

Some found the breakfast room gloomy and difficult to access. One recent guest explained, "You cannot access the breakfast room from the lobby, so have to go down in the lift 1 floor, then its a bit of a walk through a maze and down some stairs until you reach it."

Some did not enjoy the breakfast. Complaints included pastries too dry, not enough selection, too many carbs and lukewarm or bad tasting coffee.

Some found the parking limited and the spaces small. Ski lockers were very small, found in the parking lot and needed cleaning, according to a recent reviewer.
