Guests can choose from 45 standard rooms, which offer either King or Queen beds. There are also 12 suites, some of which have Jacuzzis. Included with all rooms is free WiFi, coffee makers, fridges, microwaves, iron and ironing boards, hair dryers and cable television, as well as a selection of in-room movies. Some rooms have balconies. Pets are welcome at this hotel, at a cost of $15/day. Check-in is at 3pm. Check-out is at 11am.

The major alpine ski resorts located around Banff include Mount Norquay Ski Resort to the north of Banff by approximately 8km driving distance, which is only about 15-20 mins by car from the hotel. Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort is 19km to the West of Banff, and approximately 30 mins by car from the hotel. Further west, along the Trans-Canada Highway, is the town of Lake Louise and the ski resort of the same name, about 60km (almost 1 hour driving time) by car from the hotel.

Nearby towns include Canmore, Alberta (23.7km to the east) and Jasper, Alberta (289km to the north). The hotel is 144km (driving distance) from Calgary International Airport (distances: Google Maps).

Confirmed with a front desk agent: pool and breakfast hours, WiFi, availability of fridge and microwave in every room (called on April 13, 2012).
The Good
By and large, guests were pleased with many aspects and features of this hotel. Many expressed feeling that they got good value for the price they paid. While older, many guests felt that it was well maintained. Guests were also impressed with the location, the staff, the breakfast, and a handful of other extra touches that enhanced their stay.

Many guests indicated that they felt that they got decent value for this more budget-conscious hotel. Guest reviews included phrases like "excellent choice for budget-savvy" and "good value."

Several guests indicated that though this hotel was not located on the main drag of Banff, they were easily able to access many of the shops and restaurants.

There were several mentions from guests of staff being very accommodating and flexible, going the extra mile to make sure that they were happy, and that their stay was comfortable.

Many other guests appreciated things like having underground parking, the selection of food at the breakfast, and having extended pool and hot tub hours.

The Bad
For guests that had an unpleasant experience, complaints centred around noise, heating and lack of detail with cleaning in rooms.

Some guests experienced noise, both from inside their rooms and some coming from outside and from other guests.

A few guests had some issues with cleaning in their rooms; one guest didn't get their sheets changed, and another felt the cleanliness of their jacuzzi was questionable.

A handful of guests had issues working the heat in their rooms. For example, one guest couldn't get the heater to work in their room so the staff had to bring in a portable heater.

There was a selection of other minor complaints, including tight corners and low ceilings in the underground parking, and the fact that the pool was small and shallow was mentioned as well.
Confirmed with a front desk agent: pool and breakfast hours, WiFi, availability of fridge and microwave in every room (called on April 13, 2012).

"Great place to stay - wouldn't stay anywhere else in Banff!"
"This hotel is great! We had informed the hotel that there would be four of us staying in the room and when we got there we were pleasantly surprised to find four bath towels, four hand towels, four face clothes, plenty of soap, toilet paper and Kleenex. What a nice touch. Delicious complimentary breakfast and free wi-fi upon check in. All hotels should be this organized!"

"Overpriced-poor quality-borders on false advertising"
"Overpriced for the quality. Internet access didn't work. Actual room looked nothing like the website. I travel extensivly for business & pleasure and hold loyalty cards for other chains. I won't be applying for one with Best Western obviously. I also intend to contact corporate. I got a suite with Fox Hotels for less than they charged for a room."

"This is an awesome hotel. I have stayed here many times and recommend it to all my friends. The rooms are great and the internet access is a plus if I take my laptop. The continental breakfast is always hot and fresh and it starts the day off right. I highly recommend this hotel!"

"I'm 6'4" and some of the ceilings were a bit low. But this hotel was far more attractive in every way than I expected a Best Western to be. It's got to be one of the best values for the money in Banff. Loved it!"

"For the price of the room, even granted it's resort location, the room could have been in a little better shape. Some of the wallpaper was peeling a bit. But it was really clean, and location was excellent. Basement parking was ideal for the location."
