The Good
This hostel provided a friendly and cheap place to stay while in Banff.

Guests liked the rooms. They described them as being clean with comfortable beds, privacy curtains on each bunk bed and convenient lockers in the rooms. Showers were hot. Guests recommended the loft single beds over the bunk beds.

Staff were very well liked. They were described as friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and a lot of fun.

Guests found the facilities functional. They liked having a fully equipped and clean kitchen to cook in and areas to lock bikes, skis and boards. Others mentioned a good restaurant/bar on site, great lounge areas, some with gas fireplaces and an ice-climbing wall in the winter.

The location was very well liked. It was an easy walk to town, a supermarket, restaurants and shopping and next door to a liquor store.

The free breakfast was a bonus. It offered cereals, toast, lots of spreads, fruit, banana bread, and orange juice.

The Bad
Some of the guests offered negative feedback online in the reviews.

Recent room complaints included: the bunk beds were rickety and noisy, rooms were a little cramped and worn looking, rooms were stuffy/very hot even with no heat turned on, and intermittant/poor Wi-Fi.

Noise was an issue for some. They could hear people showering, opening doors, climbing stairs, neighbours and guests in the same room staying up late.

The hostel's value was disappointing to some who sometimes found the rates to be high, and also complained that towels were available only to rent.

Some were disappointed that the parking lot was small, so there's no guarantee of getting a spot if you leave for the day in your car.

Other recent complaints were: bathroom fans did not vent properly, not enough seating at breakfast, free breakfast ran out at 9 am
