Vancouver offers some of the best airport hotels according to online reviewers. Here are my suggested hotels, picked from the 10 closest to the airport.

Tips For Staying Near Vancouver Airport

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is located on Sea Island in Richmond, British Columbia. Downtown Vancouver is about a 20-minute car ride from YVR.
Getting Around
Several car rental facilities are available that offer pick-up and return services directly to the airport.

For guests without vehicle access, the Canada Line Train, a commuter train also known as the Sky Train, is considered the most efficient way to and from downtown Vancouver. The ride is roughly 30 minutes long and will cost you $10.50 in transit fare ($5 airport surcharge in addition to the regular $5.50 fee). The train is available between 4:40 am to 1:05 am.

If you prefer to take a taxi, expect to pay $34 to $36 for a one-way trip to downtown Vancouver.

It should be also noted that most of the hotels in the downtown area do not offer an airport shuttle service.
YVR offers a wide range of parking options, from the Parkade (short term) to the Economy Lot (long term). Rates range from $4 for half an hour to $28 for one day. Find more information on parking at Vancouver Airport here.
There are plenty of shops on site at YVR, available throughout the facility. Some shops that may be of interest include Hudson News, Lacoste and Sunglass Hut.
The Vancouver Airport has a "Food on the Fly" program which allows passengers to take fresh food and snacks from any YVR restaurant on board their planes.

The dining options on site are numerous and varied, and located all throughout the facility. Subway, Monk's Grill, Rice Tales, Pizza Hut and Jugo Juice are just some of the restaurants available to travellers on site.
Vancouver International Airport offers a visual display of award-winning art and architecture. Airport goers can expect to see a journey of Land, Sea and Sky, with each terminal building strategically representing British Columbia's heritage, natural beauty and experiences.

The Lorne Balshine Inuit Art Collection is a collection of contemporary Inuit sculptures that consists of 75 sculptures showcasing themes of wildlife, family life and survival. The collection can be viewed in the Domestic Terminal.

The International Terminal displays The Spirit of Haida Gwaii and The Jade Canoe, along with other major art works. Find more information about the art at YVR.
