Many of the hotels listed below, as the closest to the Toronto Western Hospital are clean and well-maintained establishments and would make a good home away from home. The top 2 hotels are highlighted as affordable choices that also offer a hospital rate, but there are others on this list that will give a hospital rate by calling the hotel directly.

(Just a note about hospital rates: if you are really seeking the cheapest room rate, compare what the hotel can offer directly and the online rate available for the day you are booking, as it has been discovered that sometimes the online rate can be significantly cheaper than the hotel's reduced hospital rate, but beware that sometimes the cheap online rates have restrictive cancellation policies.)

Super 8 is well located, only about a 3-minute drive to the hospital. If you are coming by car, it's recommended to leave it in the parkade (for a $10 fee per night) and either walk (12 minutes), take a cab for about $6 or take public transit to the hospital, as parking rates at the hospital are very expensive--see below for more details. Super 8 offered a hospital rate of $79 per night (plus tax) on the day we asked. It has clean, spacious rooms with comfortable beds, that are also equipped with microwaves and mini-fridges. It's close to public transit (about a 3-minute walk) and many shops and eateries on Dundas, Queen and Spadina. Wi-Fi and a continental breakfast are included in the room rate. This hotel is connected to a shopping mall in Chinatown and utilizes the mall's parkade. If you pay for parking at the hotel's front desk you will obtain the subsidized rate of $10 per day; if you pay at the parkade exit you will pay the mall's price of $19 per day.
