Popular downtown Vancouver boutique hotel with modern amenities, café and free Wi-Fi
The smoke-free Burrard may work well for some guests needing a reasonably-priced and clean hotel very near to the hospital. It's right across the street! The downside is that you can hear the sound of ambulances going to the hospital and street noise from Burrard, but it's possible to ask for a room facing their garden courtyard (which could be a nice place to relax in good weather). A large percentage of guests who have stayed recommend the hotel and guests seemed to appreciate it for its clean and modern rooms (mini-fridges, Nespresso machines, windows that open), comfy beds, professional and helpful staff who seem quick to accommodate guests, and location. 

There are a lot of conveniences nearby including a 7-Eleven store plus a well-liked cafe with light meals at the base of the hotel. The closest SkyTrain stop is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

The smoke-free Century Plaza is next door to the hospital and is also competitively priced. Online guest reviews reveal that if you ask for a room in the northwest corner and higher up, you will not only have a great view, but it will be quieter on that side of the building. 

This hotel is well liked for its location, friendly and helpful staff, on-site restaurant with good food and service, spacious rooms and lower price point. All rooms have microwaves and fridges and are spacious and clean, although somewhat dated. The location is not only convenient to the hospital, but shops, restaurants and public transit as well. The Century Plaza is a green hotel and uses chemical-free cleaning. Hotel amenities include an indoor pool, steam room and full-service spa.

The all-suite and smoke-free Residence Inn is about a 4-minute walk from the hospital. Guests liked their clean, spacious and well-appointed rooms (great linens and comfy beds), in-suite kitchens, welcoming staff and convenient downtown location close to all amenities. Recreational facilities include an indoor pool, hot tub and fitness centre. Location
St. Paul's Hospital is part of the Providence Health Care organization and is located in downtown Vancouver. The area surrounding the hospital includes a mix of residential, church, commercial and retail properties. The main entrance of the hospital is closest to the intersection of Burrard Street and Helmcken Street.

Parking
The main parking lot for the hospital is an underground lot, with the entrance located off of Burrard Street. There are reserved spaces for disabled parking in the underground lot and the spaces are located closest to the elevators. The rates for the main lot are $2 per half hour, $18.75 for 24 hours and $64.50 per week.

There is also a small outdoor lot at the intersection of Comox Street and Thurlow Street. Rates for this lot are $3.75 per half hour or $5.75 for weekday evenings and overnight from 5 pm to 8 am, or for 24 hours on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

It is noted that these lots are often full. An alternative is to park on a main street, like Burrard Street, with metered street parking. The hospital also notes that non-metered, or free, street parking may be difficult to find in the area. A temporary parking lot specifically for pick-ups and drop-offs is available on Comox Street and Burrard Street close to the entrances.

Several bus routes go to the hospital including 1, 2, 22, 23, 44. Full schedules for these routes can be found on the TransLink website or Google Maps. The closest SkyTrain station is Vancouver City Centre Station, which is a 12-minute walk from the hospital. This station can also be accessed by bus.

Temptations Coffee Bar is located at the main entrance of the Burrard Buliding and serves coffee, baked goods and sandwiches. The coffee bar is open Monday to Friday from 6:45 am to 4 pm. 

A menu is provided every morning for patients staying at the hospital to choose their meals for the day and is based on a dietitian's recommendations. Family members are allowed to bring outside food and drink to patients and there is a small fridge located on each floor to store food in.

Because of the hospital's central location, there are many cafes and both take-out and dine-in restaurants within a 5- to 10-minute walk of the hospital.

There is a small gift shop located in the hospital that sells care products and small gifts ranging from jewellery to stuffed animals, chocolates and candy. The shop is open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 8 pm and weekends from 12 pm to 4 pm. It is closed on statutory holidays.
