The Comfort Inn is a good basic hotel, which has been getting a recent (2013) facelift. It's the most convenient of all St John's hotels to the airport, with only a 3-minute drive, and offers a free 24-hr airport shuttle that operates on demand. This is one of the better values in St John, has a good room with a comfy bed and friendly staff. Clancy's, their on-site restaurant is handy and many guests have enjoyed their meals there. The hotel offers a free early-bird breakfast (starts at 4 am and runs till 8 am) to assist travellers with early flights. Wi-Fi, breakfast and parking are free. Guest ratings are very good.

Getting Around
Reaching downtown St. John's via public transit requires a 36-minute walk to the nearest bus stop, and then a 27-minute bus ride; thus, it is not an ideal way to travel if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues. The bus fare is $2.25 for adults (less for seniors and students) or $20.00 for 10 trips (a savings of $2.50).

Alternatively, St. John's Airport has six rental car companies on site where you can pick up your vacation vehicle. You can also take a taxi to your hotel, which are available at the exit of the airport's arrivals area. Taxis in the area generally start their meters at $3.75, and total trip costs will vary depending on your destination.
