Getting Around: Driving
If you're only spending part of your day at the mall, there's plenty more to do in Ottawa within a short drive of the Rideau Centre. If you're not already shopped out, or if you're looking to wine and dine, downtown Ottawa is only a 3-minute drive away. The ByWard Market (a hugely popular tourist attraction, with shops, restaurants, arts, culture and entertainment, including a farmers' market) and Parliament Hill are each a 3-minute drive from the mall, which makes sightseeing by car a breeze.

If you'd rather explore a wider area, access to the Trans-Canada Highway is also about 3 minutes from the mall by car.

Don't want to bring your own car? Taxi stands are located in front of the Westin and Novotel hotels, as well as along Rideau Street. A number of taxi services operate throughout the Ottawa area, and hailing one on Rideau Street should not be an issue. And with such short drive times to many of Ottawa's main attractions, cab fare won't break the budget!
