Penticton and some of the smaller surrounding communities have a very good selection of hotels. I analyzed all the hotels listed below and compared guest comments, ratings, rankings, amenities, prices, location and atmosphere of the hotel based upon professional and travellers' photos and decided on the places I would personally like to stay at (or should I say those I'm planning to stay at)!

Spacious lakeside rooms, delicious food on site, some concerns with restaurant waits
Cove Lake came out on top in my analysis. Guests gave high scores for spacious and clean rooms with quality linens and comfy beds, modern decor, great customer service and beautiful views of the lake. If you like privacy like I do, they have private balconies, beach and marina. There's a full-service spa and green space with BBQ on site for relaxing meals outdoors. There's a very well-reviewed on-site restaurant with patio overlooking the lake (sounds like heaven) and things to do on site, such as tennis courts and outdoor pool with waterslide. You won't have to venture too far to find a golf course (Shannon Lake, 10 minutes) and winery (Mission Hill, 9 minutes). It's a little far from the airport at 44 minutes driving time, but I wouldn't be going to Penticton to stay near to the airport!

Hotel with well-appointed rooms, on-site restaurants, seasonal outdoor pool and 2-acre courtyard
If you want to stay closer to town to take in the summer festivals or a concert, I would suggest the Ramada Inn. It has very high ratings 8.8/10 and is ranked # 1 hotel property in Penticton (out of 6). It has two restaurants on site and guests have given a lot of praise to the food there. There's nice decor with spacious, clean rooms, comfy beds and linens and guests have really enjoyed their courtyard with 2 acres of green space, outdoor and indoor pool and BBQ area. They're right in the middle of it all with only a 5-minute drive to downtown Penticton and Cherry Lane Shopping Centre and a 5-minute walk to the South Okanagan Events Centre and Penticton Trade & Convention Centre. If you like to golf, they are located adjacent to the Penticton Golf & Country Club. This hotel is only 12 minutes to the airport.

Secluded lakefront location, self-contained suites, on-site restaurant and spa
Summerland is another beautiful resort hotel tucked away in a quiet and restful place. It's only 20 minutes to the airport and 16 to downtown Penticton. Right on the lake with gorgeous vistas, restaurant (guests say good food) with patio overlooking the lake, high customer satisfaction, condo-like units, boat rentals, private beach and BBQ area. A winery and golf club are only 7 minutes away and it's still close enough to Penticton to take in the Peach Festival or Challenge Triathlon.

Penticton Airport
Jul 26, 2014
by Zoe H., Editor
Location
The Penticton Regional Airport (YYF) is located about 12 minutes south of downtown Penticton. Many tourists come to Penticton and the neighbouring communities via this small regional airport on Air Canada Jazz planes, from Vancouver's international airport. This tiny city, sandwiched between Lake Okanagan and Skaha Lake, is big on charm. With lakes and beaches, in a semi-arid fruit belt, there's a harvest of plenty to discover.

Getting Around
Car rentals are available from the airport and are provided by Budget Car & Truck Rental, National Car Rental and Best Choice Car & Truck Rentals. There are also a lot of taxicab and shuttle companies to help you get around the city.

While the public transit buses do not reach the airport directly, they do service the commercial area and residential neighbourhoods of Penticton with modern, low-floor buses that are equipped with bike racks. The bus fare for Penticton public transit is $2 per ride for adults and students and ten rides purchased at once cost $15. Fares are even cheaper for seniors and children.
