Kelowna is an interesting place to visit, situated on Lake Okanagan in the Okanagan Valley. It seems to have everything a traveller could want, from golf courses, to wineries, to beaches and parks; there are plenty of things to do and see. In Kelowna it's easy to find a hotel that is close to both airport and downtown as it is not that spread out. I chose 3 out of the 10 hotels located closest to the airport, for airport convenience, customer satisfaction and overall value.

Four Points by Sheraton Kelowna Airport
5505 Airport Way
0.9 km from Kelowna Airport
Book from ~$183 CAD
Highly praised Kelowna airport hotel 2 min to YLW with free shuttle and free parking
Everyone loves the Four Points airport hotel. It's a short walk (6 minutes) and even a shorter drive (2 minutes) to the airport and the hotel provides a 24-hour free shuttle service to and from the airport on demand. They also offer a park and fly option which includes 7 free days of parking with an overnight stay. If you need to leave your car for longer than a week, each additional day of extended parking costs $8 per day. Guests enjoy the modern decor and amenities, HD TVs, indoor pool, waterslide and gourmet breakfasts at Gulfstream Restaurant, which along with their lounge offers lunch and dinner. There is a Starbucks next door I'm told, plus pleasant staff offering excellent service. Parking and Wi-Fi are included in the room rate. This is a great choice for those early flights and for guests who don't mind being a little farther from downtown, about 20 minutes.

Comfort Suites is a well-liked hotel and has a high customer satisfaction rate. An all-suite hotel with clean, spacious and well-appointed rooms, it also boasts a 40 foot waterslide and pool for the child in you. It does not have an on-site restaurant, but it's a 2-minute drive to Orchard Park Mall which has a full-service restaurant (Milestones) and it's about a 9-minute walk to Joey Kelowna restaurant. It is located right on Highway 97 making it convenient for accessing area attractions.

Super 8 Lake Country
9564 Highway 97 North
7.7 km from Kelowna Airport
Book from ~$98 CAD
Comfortable Winfield-Lake Country motel with hot tub, free breakfast & kitchenettes
Super 8 Lake Country is located in Winfield only 8 minutes from the airport, but a little farther to downtown Kelowna at 20 minutes. Although it has no elevator to the second floor and may not be suitable for all guests, travellers seemed to think it offered good value and reported pleasant experiences at this hotel. It's a 2 star with a 7.6/10 rating that offers the free amenities of breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking, but you should note that it has no on-site restaurant. It's located on Highway 97 about a 7-minute drive to The Greek House restaurant.

Fairfield Inn & Suites Kelowna
1655 Powick Road
8.2 km from Kelowna Airport
Book from ~$161 CAD
Well-liked east Kelowna hotel with outdoor pool, waterslide and free hot breakfast
The more expensive Fairfield Inn & Suites seems to be a great choice. This is a very well liked 3 star hotel that has an all-year, heated outdoor pool with 48 foot waterslide, spacious and nicely-appointed rooms, and good free breakfast with many hot items (which includes to-go bags for those who have to dash to the airport). It has easy access to Highway 97 and is located in a big box shopping area, about a 5-minute drive to Orchard Park Mall & Milestones restaurant, 8 minutes to downtown and 10 minutes to the airport. Although this hotel does not have an on-site restaurant, The Cactus Club Cafe is a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
Book from ~$145 CAD
On Hwy 97, clean, comfy rooms, outdoor pool with sun deck, hot tub, friendly & well-priced
Luxurious fully-equipped villas, minor complaints about distance from shopping
Located a 7-minute drive from the airport, this hotel retains a peaceful quietness despite the nearby show of airplanes lifting off and landing. One downside of the remote location of this hotel is the sparsity of local shops and corner stores. For instance, the nearest corner store is a 7-minute drive or nearly a 1-hour walk from the hotel.
Buildings 1-4 are closer to the pool, hot tub and exercise room. Building 10 may be difficult for people with mobility issues. Take note that the Bellasera hotel is slightly off the maps of public transit in Kelowna: it's a 40-minute walk to the 23 bus stop, and then a transfer to the 97 bus to reach downtown for a total transit time of 1 hour and 40 minutes. For this reason, the Bellasera hotel is recommended for travelers with a car, or who have budgeted for numerous taxis. By car, the trip to downtown is 20 minutes.
A stunning view of the Okanagan Lake and Valley is available from most rooms, as the hotel consists of a dozen small Tuscan-style villas. This hotel is recommended for golf lovers, who can take advantage of being adjacent to the Okanagan Golf Club.

About a 15-minute drive from downtown Kelowna, the Kelowna International Airport (YLW) is nestled in the Okanagan Valley, surrounded by golf clubs, natural parks, award-winning wineries and the Okanagan campus of the University of British Colombia.
You can take the #23 bus right from the Kelowna Airport to the University of BC's Okanagan campus, where you can transfer to other public transit lines (97, 4 or 8) to get to the heart of the city. A one-way bus fare for adults is $2.25, but if you plan to use transit frequently, you can get a day pass for $6.00 or 10 tickets for $20.25. Prices are reduced for children, students and seniors.
The #23 bus stops about 3 minutes on foot from the main building. All of the hotels below are accessible by public transit from the airport, although some of the trips are a bit long and may require more than 10 minutes of walking.
There's also an airport shuttle bus located outside the south terminal building entrance that will take you directly to your hotel or other destination, with a reservation. To get an estimated cost or to reserve your shuttle trip, contact the shuttle company.
If you prefer to drive, you can pick up a rental car at one of four approved car rental agencies at the south end of the short-term lot.
