Good value northwest Hamilton hotel with well-equipped rooms, restaurant & free breakfast
Pros
  • Free amenities: Wi-Fi, breakfast, parking, local calls, pet stays
  • Numerous guests raved about the restaurant's food, prices, and service
  • The staff were friendly and very helpful according to guests
  • Many guests liked the rooms and said they were clean, comfortable and well appointed
  • Some guests enjoyed the views of Dundurn Castle from the hotel
  • Guests praised the location for being close to downtown Hamilton
Cons
  • Although this is a smoke-free hotel, a few guests complained about the smell of smoke
  • A few guests complained of noise transfer from adjoining rooms
  • A couple of reviewers thought that more updates were needed
I think the Admiral Inn is your best bet for hotels if you need to visit the hospital or family at the hospital. It's clean and affordable, the staff go out of their way to please their guests and it has a very good restaurant (with room service) on site.

This is the kind of area that one needs to have a car, (at best) or at worst-case scenario take a cab to and from the hospital. Public transit is long and tedious from this area. Parking is free here and there's lots of it--so no problems there. It's also fairly easy to get around by car from here as they are close to main arteries and even the highway.

I chose this place because very simply it had the best ratings on line and the best room rates on the day I compared. It also has a free breakfast (that guests have liked), free parking and free Wi-Fi, and free local calls. This really brings the price down considerably.

Another bonus in my opinion is a mini-fridge and microwave in the room. This adds to your convenience in keeping fresh food and drinks on hand and allows for heating up leftovers from dinner, which will also save you time and money.
