Location
Halifax Casino, or Casino Nova Scotia, is located in downtown Halifax and is one of two locations, the other being in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The casino is located right on the shore of the Halifax Harbour, with a view of downtown Dartmouth across the harbour. 

Directly behind the casino is an overpass leading to the main streets of Halifax as well as several government buildings and hotels. The heart of downtown Halifax is an approximate 5-minute drive or taxi ride or 8-minute walk from the casino. 

The closest airport is Halifax Stanfield Airport (YHZ), which is an approximate 30- to 40-minute drive or taxi ride away.

Parking
The standard parking rate at the casino is $3 per hour and there are no daily or weekly rates. Complimentary parking will be validated for Player's Club members who take part in the following:

1. Spend at least $14 on gaming at the casino
2. Spend at least $14 on food and beverages in the casino
3. Pay for a ticket for entertainment or a show at the casino

To receive complimentary parking, guests must present their Player's Club card and receipt from either the restaurant, bar or ticket from the show attended to Guest Services. A membership to the Player's Club is free, and the application form can be filled out on the casino's website.

Getting Around: Walking

Getting Around: Public Transit
There are both bus routes and a ferry close to the casino for travelling around Halifax or across the river to Dartmouth. The closest stop to the casino is a 3-minute walk away at Upper Water Street in front of Purdy's Tower, which is a stop on routes 5 and 82. The Halifax Ferry Terminal is a 3-minute drive or taxi ride or an 8-minute walk from the casino and offers two routes to Dartmouth and Woodside, Nova Scotia.

There are several bus options in Halifax, and fares vary based on which type of bus route you are travelling on. One-way fares range from $2.25 to $3.25 for an adult fare, with 10-ticket or MetroPass options.

There are not many late-night routes on the bus line, and taking a taxi or walking may be a better alternative to get to your hotel if the bus is not running late enough for your needs.

There are several taxi companies in Halifax, however, Casino Taxi is recommended by the casino and drivers are always parked outside of the casino for easy access. Casino Taxi's meter rate is an initial charge of $3.20 and $0.13 for each 76.7 metres and $0.70 per each additional passenger. 

Based on the rates, the taxi ride to many of the hotels closest to the casino will be approximately $5 and will take about 2 minutes.

The casino houses one full-service restaurant, Trapeze, and a cafe that serves lighter meals called Casino Cafe. There is also a coffee cart that serves beverages and a self-serve coffee kiosk on the gaming floor. 

Trapeze restaurant offers views of the Halifax waterfront and its hours of operation are Sunday to Thursday from 11:30 am to 11 pm and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 am to 12 am. A late-night menu is available Friday and Saturday from 11:30 pm to 1:30 am, and the bar at the restaurant is open nightly until 2 am. The restaurant also takes reservations for parties.

Player's Club points can be used by members for food purchases at Trapeze and those who redeem points receive a 25% discount on their food purchase.

The casino has over 550 slot machines ranging in denomination of $0.01 to $100 machines. The machines take Canadian paper currency and give winnings by tickets rather than coins. Slot tournaments are held for those looking for social gaming.
