Tips For Staying Near Fanshawe College London Ontario

Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology, is one of Ontario's largest colleges with 17,000 full-time students and 26,000 part-time students over five campuses throughout Ontario.

The main campus is situated in London, Ontario and surrounded by residential neighbourhoods. It has been described as a "city within a city," with four student residences, modern sports facilities, a fitness centre, a bookstore, a computer store and almost a dozen cafeterias and restaurants.
Getting Around
The campus is an 11-minute drive from downtown London, an approximate 10-minute drive from the nearest 401 Hwy interchange, and a 6-minute drive from the London International Airport (YXU).

The campus itself is situated on 100 acres of land with 11 campus buildings, including classrooms, residences and dining halls. For a more detailed look at the layout of the campus, consult the map on the school's website. The main entrance and administration buildings can be accessed via Fanshawe College Boulevard.

Campus tours can be booked in advance by contacting staff, or through their online form, or simply by dropping in to their Marketing and Communications Office (E1003 in the administration building just inside the main entrance).
Parking is available on campus, with different rates based on length of stay and extended passes for students or faculty. Visitor rates are $4 per entry in the coin lots, or $2.50 per hour at the visitor meters.

For more parking information, or for a map of parking lots, visit the school's website.
Getting Around: Public Transit
Upon registration, students receive a London Transport Commission (LTC) bus pass as part of their fees. London Transport serves the greater London area and a number of routes are available to get to and from the campus. There are four main bus stops at the college, with the main loop being just off of Oxford Drive.

Rates are $2.75 per adult, per ride, or tickets can be purchased throughout the city at a reduced rate of $1.90 per ride. Unfortunately, the LTC isn't currently (2014) synced with Google Map directions, so for more fare and route information, visit the LTC website.
There are three cafeterias and a handful of restaurants, as well as four Tim Hortons coffee shops on campus.

A meal plan card can be purchased by non-residence students, starting at $50, while residence students are required to opt in and purchase a full meal plan card. These start at $1,200 and the cards are valid at any eatery on campus. Students can use their plan cards to purchase food for visitors.
