Staying in downtown Moncton does not cost much more than staying in surrounding areas. Hotels in the downtown are relatively affordable and even during the summer tourist season, hotels can be booked for less than $150 per night. Both budget-friendly and luxurious properties are available in the downtown, so travellers with a variety of needs and tastes should find something that suits them.
Alternative Places to Stay
If you’re planning to drive to central Moncton, several budget-chain hotels are located along the Trans-Canada Highway. These hotels are a 15-minute drive from the downtown area and offer convenient access to the Moncton Zoo and Magic Mountain Water Park. However, if you do decide to drive into the downtown area from one of these hotels, you will have to contend with finding a parking space. Most public parking facilities in the downtown area charge $2 per hour.
Sample a local brew on the expansive patio at the Pump House Brewery, or find a handcrafted souvenir at the Marche Moncton Market (open on Saturdays only). The historic Capitol Theatre, recently restored to its 1920's glory, is found on Main Street.
